So, my fourth hard drive took a massive dump on me last night. It sucks because I'm outside of the warranty date, so I don't get a new one. I will never buy a Dell again.
I figure that I'll want a laptop to edit my photos, blog, write while I'm away, but do people really take their laptops anyway?

Im taking mine! And I think they do, I've heard it's good when you have to write grant proposals or do other work at home.so not only is it good for pics and boredem but it's good for work too! :)

I have a Dell and I absolutely hate it. However, I plan on taking it to Liberia with me, because if it gets messed up or stolen, I won't be devastated.
ReplyDeleteI plan on taking mine with me for work, grad school applications, movies etc. I bought it not too long ago for under $500 so I wouldn't be terribly upset if it didn't make its way back to the US after service.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your hard drive! I totally sympathize. I just went through two computers that died on me on in the last 2.5 years & it really sucks!! Both were just barely out of warranty. It's funny though b/c they were non-Dells and I just recently got a Dell again. I love them. To each their own!
It depends on where you go and what you do, but I am planning to take mine when I leave in March, and everyone else I know who is going to "my" country (Ukraine) does as well. I have a Gateway, and have never had a problem - it is my second. I will never buy Dell again - I also had problems with them.
